Based out of Louisville, Kentucky from 1990-1994, the IceHawks played professional Hockey as part of the East Coast Hockey League. Their home ice would be the Broadbent Arena at the Kentucky Exposition center. One of the memorable things about the IceHawks was their mascot, Tommy Hawk, who actually was suspended at one point for an aletercation involving an opposing player.

The Louisville IceHawks played at Broadbent Arena in the early 90s, from 1990 through 1994. The team drew around 3-4,000 fans and were pretty successful on the ice. In their first season of 1990-91, they went 31-29-0-4 and made the playoffs, losing to Greensboro in the semifinals. Year two was even better, as they made it all the way to the finals before losing to Hampton Roads. After two more seasons, the team would depart the Bluegrass for Jacksonville, Florida.
